Anastasia Bay (b. 1988, Paris, France) is a French artist based in Brussels whose vivid paintings explore the human figure through a distinctive blend of bold lines, simplified forms, and vibrant color. A graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, Bay draws on art history, mythology, literature, and popular culture, bringing classical archetypes into unexpected contemporary settings.
Her large-scale works move between figuration and abstraction, depicting anonymous figures caught in ambiguous poses and moments of tension. Combining influences ranging from medieval and Renaissance painting to comics and theatre, Bay creates a visual language that feels both ancient and contemporary, balancing humor, unease, and emotional intensity.
