Jackson Pollock x THE SKATEROOM

Widely recognized as a central figure of Abstract Expressionism, Pollock transformed the act of painting itself. His revolutionary drip technique turned the canvas into an arena of movement, energy, and gesture. Paint was no longer simply applied to a surface. It was poured, flung, and layered in dynamic compositions that captured both control and spontaneity.

With this new release, THE SKATEROOM translates three celebrated Pollock works into skate deck editions. The result is a collection where the physical language of Pollock’s painting meets the vertical form of the skateboard deck, creating objects that function both as contemporary art editions and collectible design pieces.

The collection features three open editions: two solo decks and one triptych, each reflecting the complexity and rhythm of Pollock’s compositions.

Pollock’s Gesture, Reimagined

Pollock’s work fundamentally reshaped modern painting. His technique emphasized motion, gravity, and a direct physical engagement with the canvas. The artist often worked on the floor, moving around the surface and dripping paint from sticks or hardened brushes.

In many ways, the skateboard deck becomes a natural extension of that philosophy. Both objects embody movement and freedom. By translating Pollock’s compositions onto skate decks, the works take on a new physical presence while remaining faithful to the spirit of experimentation that defined his practice.

Art in Motion

For more than a decade, THE SKATEROOM has explored how seminal artworks can be reinterpreted through contemporary objects. Skate decks offer a unique medium that bridges art, design, and culture.

This Pollock collection continues that exploration. Each edition preserves the intensity and complexity of the original compositions while transforming them into objects that exist beyond the traditional gallery wall.

The result is a series of editions that honor the legacy of one of America’s most revolutionary painters while bringing his work into a new contemporary context.
