About

In When I Close My Eyes, Kila Cheung presents a quiet portrait where imagination and introspection merge. A character with closed eyes wears a textured hat topped by tiny symbolic figures, suggesting a dreamlike world unfolding within the mind.

Cheung’s works frequently explore emotional states through playful characters and symbolic objects. Flowers, small figures, and whimsical motifs often appear throughout his paintings, representing curiosity, resilience, and the fragile beauty of personal memory.

The gentle pastel tones and minimal composition create a contemplative atmosphere. The figure appears suspended between sleep and imagination, inviting viewers to interpret the narrative through their own experiences.

Printed as a limited and numbered edition of 50, this artwork reflects the introspective and poetic qualities that make Kila Cheung’s visual universe instantly recognizable.

A compelling work for collectors of contemporary figurative art, dreamlike portraiture, and emerging Asian artists.
