About

Artificial paradise under a giant indoor sky.

Photographed in Japan in 1996, The Ocean Dome captures one of Martin Parr’s most striking explorations of constructed leisure and manufactured escapism. Beneath the vast dome, crowds gather on a simulated beach surrounded by perfect waves, controlled climate, and synthetic sunlight: a hyperreal vision of vacation culture that feels simultaneously futuristic and deeply familiar.

Presented as a triptych skateboard edition, the composition unfolds across three decks, emphasizing the scale and immersive atmosphere of the scene.

Released in collaboration with the Martin Parr Foundation, this collection is among the final projects personally approved by Martin Parr.

Each edition includes a custom holographic authentication sticker featuring Martin Parr’s portrait and signature.

Portrait of Martin PARR

About the Artist

Portrait of Martin PARR

Martin Parr (1952–2025) was a British documentary photographer celebrated for his sharp, colorful observations of modern life and consumer culture. Known for his distinctive visual language combining humor, irony, and social commentary, Parr captured everyday moments with an unmistakable eye for detail, transforming the ordinary into something both revealing and deeply human.

Over a career spanning more than five decades, Parr documented leisure, tourism, food, fashion, and mass culture across the world, becoming one of the most influential photographers of his generation. A longtime member of Magnum Photos, his work challenged traditional documentary photography by embracing saturated color, visual excess, and the contradictions of contemporary society.

He has published over 100 books, edited another 30, and appeared in leading museums around the world from the Centre Pompidou in Paris to the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
