The Flex
Limited Edition of 100
The Flex is a limited and numbered edition giclée print by American designer and visual artist David Carson, whose experimental approach to typography and image-making reshaped the visual language of contemporary graphic design.
Widely known for his groundbreaking work as art director of Ray Gun magazine in the 1990s, Carson developed a style that rejects rigid hierarchy and traditional composition. His work blends typography, photography, and found imagery into layered visual constructions where intuition takes precedence over rules.
In The Flex, fragments of typography, paper textures, and bold color fields collide in a dynamic collage composition. Torn shapes and overlapping materials create a sense of movement and tension, reflecting Carson’s instinctive process and his long-standing fascination with visual disruption.
This limited edition giclée print, produced in an edition of 100, translates Carson’s collage-driven language into a finely detailed archival format. Printed using museum-quality giclée techniques, the edition preserves the subtle textures and tonal depth of the original work.
Each print is individually numbered and produced in a strictly limited run of 100 editions.
Released as part of the David Carson x THE SKATEROOM collection, The Flex brings Carson’s influential visual language into a collectible print edition designed for contemporary art collectors and design enthusiasts alike.
