About

OTOKY N12 by artist Cevo presents a nocturnal view of Tokyo where artificial light, signage, and shadow converge to create a cinematic urban atmosphere. A glowing parking sign illuminates the scene, revealing layered architecture, parked vehicles, and fragments of city infrastructure that evoke the rhythm of the city after dark.

Cevo, an Argentine artist based in Stockholm, is known for his highly detailed works that reinterpret urban environments through careful observation and reconstruction. His OTOKY series explores Japanese cityscapes through hundreds of photographic references and extensive studio work, transforming everyday locations into immersive contemporary artworks.

In this composition, the vibrant yellow parking sign cuts through the darkness like a beacon, contrasting with the muted tones of surrounding buildings and streets. The result is a striking balance between realism and atmosphere, capturing the unique visual language of Tokyo’s nightscape.

Released as a limited, numbered edition of 50 prints, OTOKY N12 is a collectible artwork that reflects Cevo’s distinctive approach to contemporary urban painting.

This print is particularly suited for collectors interested in Tokyo street photography aesthetics, contemporary cityscape art, and cinematic urban imagery.

About the Artist

Portrait of Cevo

Sebastian Scaglione (b. 1991), known professionally as Cevo, is a self-taught Argentinean artist based in Stockholm.

His practice centres around large-scale, hyper-detailed figurative cityscapes that merge architectural precision with an anime-inspired surrealism. Working primarily with acrylic on linen, his works often require up to 300 hours to complete.

His ongoing series Otoky, a retro-futuristic study inspired by his first visits to Tokyo and Kyoto in 2023, explores the paradox of solitude within densely populated cities. Through meticulously crafted compositions devoid of human presence, Cevo captures a sense of “futuristic nostalgia,” where neon lit urban environments become the protagonists of silent metropolises.

Driven by admiration for Japanese urbanism and craftsmanship, his work invites viewers to pause within stillness and reflect on the evolution of contemporary cities.
