About

In I Hit Myself, Kila Cheung transforms a surreal scene into a poetic metaphor for vulnerability and self-reflection. A character lies across the hood of a yellow car, suspended between humor and discomfort, while tiny figures and symbols appear throughout the composition.

Cheung’s artistic language draws from childhood imagination, pop culture, and emotional introspection. His works frequently portray whimsical characters navigating strange or dreamlike environments, creating narratives that feel both playful and deeply personal.

The unusual perspective and flattened composition amplify the surreal quality of the scene. Soft pastel tones contrast with the absurdity of the moment, reinforcing the artist’s ability to combine humor with subtle emotional tension.

Released as a limited and numbered edition of 50, this print embodies Cheung’s distinctive storytelling style and imaginative visual universe.

A striking addition for collectors interested in contemporary Asian painting, narrative surrealism, and whimsical figurative art.
