About

Original Artwork

This original artwork is one of the three unique solo editions which were spray-painted and hand-signed personally by Jon BURGERMAN himself. The artworks were created much like one of his canvas paintings. Blurred eyes and dripping smiles resurface from a mass of color. The use of spray paint adds a dreamy softness and depth, immersing the viewer into the world.

BURGERMAN often uses playful characters to represent human emotions. This vague, hypnotizing display allows us to assign our own meanings to the work, while simultaneously admiring the visible technique of its creative process.

About the Artist

Portrait of Jon BURGERMAN

Jon Burgerman (b. 1979) is a British-born artist based in New York, celebrated for his playful, doodle-driven visual language. Graduating in Fine Art from Nottingham Trent University in 2001, Burgerman quickly became known for his vibrant, squiggly characters and bold-line compositions that merge fine art, illustration, street art, and pop-culture wit.

His work inhabits a joyful space where humor meets anxiety—gooey shapes and googly-eyed figures pack emotional complexity while remaining approachable and humorous. Burgerman’s pieces span canvases, large-scale murals, toys, inflatables, apparel, animation, and public installations, reflecting a multidisciplinary ethos.

Exhibited internationally—including at the Victoria and Albert Museum (London), Tate Modern, and Seoul’s M Contemporary—his creations have also been commissioned by brands like Nike, Pepsi, Samsung, Casetify, and more. A passionate advocate for creativity, Burgerman has authored books such as Pens Are My Friends, It’s Great to Create, and Burgerworld, and frequently hosts workshops, talks, and performances worldwide.

In essence, Burgerman makes art that feels spontaneous and fun—yet thoughtfully layered—a reminder that play is not just entertainment, but a key to perception and expression.
