About the Artist

Portrait of Frida KAHLO

Few artists are as instantly recognizable and as profoundly impactful as Frida Kahlo (1907–1954). A pioneer of self-portraiture, she wove together surrealism, symbolism, and raw personal narrative to create artworks that continue to inspire generations.

Born in Mexico City, Kahlo’s life was marked by physical hardship, a tumultuous relationship with Diego Rivera, and a relentless passion for self-expression. Her paintings—deeply personal yet universally resonant—explore themes of pain, identity, gender, and resilience.
