Contemplar al Meditador de la Isla
Limited Edition of 50
Tomás Sánchez’s Contemplar al Meditador de la Isla invites you to pause and reflect.
This serene triptych captures a moment of quiet contemplation amidst nature’s vastness — a reminder of the power of stillness in a chaotic world.
Printed across three skate decks, this limited edition piece bridges the line between fine art and skate culture. Numbered and authenticated, it’s a collector’s centerpiece.
About the Artist
Tomás Sánchez (b. 1948, Aguada de Pasajeros, Cuba) is a Cuban painter and engraver known for his immersive, meditative landscapes. He studied at San Alejandro School in Havana and later at the National School of Arts.
His works blend imagination and nature — lush paradisiac scenes, often interlaced with more stark visions like fields of waste. Using meditation as a creative foundation, he creates scenes of spiritual stillness where small solitary figures become witnesses to vast, transcendent spaces.
His work has been exhibited both individually and collectively in more than 30 countries, including Mexico, the United States, Japan, Italy, Spain, and France.
Sánchez left Cuba in the late 1980s, lived in Mexico, and now divides his time between Miami and Costa Rica.
