Our Collaboration
This collaboration with Tobias SPICHTIG was launched on April 27, 2022 at THE SKATEROOM GALLERY in Brussels and is now available for viewing until June 8, 2022 by appointment only.
Tobias Spichtig (Swiss, b. 1982) lives and works in Zürich and Berlin. His work spans painting, sculpture and performance and has been exhibited at the Swiss Institute, New York; KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlin; Spazio Maiocchi, Milan; and Centre d’Art Contemporain – La Synagogue, Delme; among other institutions.
This new collaboration is launched to raise support for a new skatepark build in Tameslouht, Morocco, constructed by our partners Concrete Jungle Foundation, in association with Centre Fiers et Forts. All artworks will be available for sale at the event gallery on April 27th, and afterwards on theskateroom.com, with 20% of revenue going towards the project in Morocco.
“As a kid I used to snowboard a lot and I still love it. Skating is so great because everyone can do it. And I love it, even if I’m not really good at it. The Skateroom has exactly that spirit of freedom and fun that can happen anywhere and anytime. To make works with skateboards was a dream come true.” – Tobias SPICHTIG
