How to Hang Skateboard Decks Like a Pro

Tips for turning your decks into wall-worthy art.

So, you’ve got your hands on a piece from THE SKATEROOM.
Maybe it’s a Warhol triptych. Maybe it’s Slawn’s chaos-in-motion.
Either way—it deserves better than a dusty corner.

Here’s how to make it gallery-ready.

1. 🛠️ Tools You’ll Need

Don’t worry—you won’t need a contractor.
Just grab:

  • A hammer
  • Measuring tape
  • Spirit level
  • Two hands (minimum)
  • Optional: drill and Phillips screwdriver (if you’re using our Snap Display)
Jean-Michel Basquiat "Charles The First" triptych skateboard wall art by THE SKATEROOM, featuring three collectible decks mounted above a black leather sofa in a modern, minimalist living room. Styled with sculptural lighting and vintage decor—ideal for contemporary art and design collectors.

2. 🧩 Hanging Methods (Pick Your Style)

EasyFix Hanging System (included with all editions)
  • Simple, clean, nearly invisible.
  • Hammer in the small hook.
  • Attach the transparent nylon strap.
  • Slide the deck on. Done.
SnapDisplay (sold separately)
  • Our premium display option.
  • Clean, luxurious, ideal for museum-like hanging.
  • Requires a drill & screwdriver—but only 30 seconds of work.

3. 📏 Positioning: Height, Spacing & Flow

General Rule:
Treat your deck like a framed artwork. That means eye-level (around 145–150cm / 57–59 inches from the floor to the center of the deck)

For Polyptychs (2–5 decks):

  • Space your nails or screws 21 cm / 8.27 inches apart. Make sure all your holes are aligned and level.
  • For EasyFix hangers: place nails 15 cm / 5.9 inches higher than SnapDisplay

Pro tip:
Lay everything out on the floor first. It helps you visualize spacing before making any holes.

4. 🌞 Light, Space & Mood

Your deck is wood. It breathes. So treat it like the artwork it is:

  • Keep it out of direct sunlight – UV rays can fade the colors
  • Avoid humidity extremes – Bathrooms are a no-go
  • Clean gently – Just use a soft cloth (no water or detergents)

Want to go full design mode? Try pairing your decks with concrete, exposed brick, gallery-white walls, or sleek bookshelves. Think of it as street meets minimalist interior design.
