J'aime la couleur
Limited Edition of 125
Chéri Samba began his career as an advertisement sign painter while also making comic strips. He inaugurated the bubble painting format by transposing comic strips onto canvas and began gaining great popularity by addressing hard topics within Kinshasa’s society. He would eventually come to place himself at the center of his paintings, carrying the responsibility of delivery as the narrator. Chéri Samba's paintings are often colorful and glittery as a way to downplay these dramatic subjects.
