Our collaboration

Charles M. Schulz is widely regarded as one of the most influential cartoonists of all time. For fifty years, Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the rest of the Peanuts gang entertained readers on the newspaper comic pages. By creating a depth and familiarity to his characters, Schulz was able to keep attracting new readers while maintaining a devout community that just couldn’t get enough.

In December 1999, the Peanuts comic strip was syndicated in over 2,600 newspapers worldwide, when Schulz announced his retirement. With a readership of around 355 million in 75 countries, and translations in over 25 languages, he has been awarded with the highest honors from his fellow cartoonists, received Emmy Awards for his animated specials, been recognized and lauded by the U.S. and foreign governments, had Apollo 10’s spacecraft named after his characters, and inspired a concert performance at Carnegie Hall.

During the Apollo missions of the 1960s, Charles M. Schulz gave NASA permission to use Snoopy on the Agency’s spaceflight safety materials. In the 50 years since, Snoopy has appeared on NASA safety posters, stickers, and has even flown to space as the Silver Snoopy pin – one the of the highest forms of recognition a NASA employee can receive. Now Peanuts and NASA have entered into a Space Act Agreement, to work together to bring the joys of space exploration and STEM into the lives of the next generation.

In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11, THE SKATEROOM and Peanuts have come together to also pay tribute to the “dress rehearsal” mission that allowed mankind to land on the moon: Apollo 10. To raise funds for social skateboarding projects benefiting at-risk youth, THE SKATEROOM and Peanuts bring you 6 Snoopy – and Apollo – theme art decks.

Supported Social Projects

THE SKATEROOM Mission

We make a commitment to the social projects we fund: at least 10% of our revenue goes directly to them. Working with our partners, we help empower at-risk youth, build new skateparks and develop education facilities & resource programs. Since 2014, we have generated over $1,500,000 to fund over 40 projects around the world. As a proudly certified B-Corp, we are committed to growing that impact every day.
