En 2016, JR fut invité au musée du Louvre. Pour l'occasion, l'artiste annonça son intention de faire disparaître la célèbre pyramide de verre du musée. Pour ce faire, JR recouvrit entièrement la structure de photographies historiques antérieures à sa construction. Il en résulta une anamorphose surprenante : l'ancienne entrée oubliée du musée surgit dans le présent et retrouve sa splendeur passée. Ce faisant, JR ravive le passé et évoque la polémique qui entoura jadis la construction de la pyramide ; involontairement, nous sommes amenés à nous demander si nous accordons une importance erronée aux choses, ou si nous oublions simplement trop vite.
