Supporting the skate community in Cuba

Cuba Skate has been activating the local skateboarding scene in Havana since 2010. With their programs, Cuba Skate empowers a new generation of leaders that are better equipped to tackle challenges in their own lives and connect their local and global communities. Their skate facilities offer safe spaces to the local community to skate and highly contribute to the development of the skateboarding scene in the country. In 2019, THE SKATEROOM helped Cuba Skate build a DIY skatepark, Ciudad Libertad, in an abandoned gymnasium of the city. This has since become a legendary spot, which hosts weekly skateboarding classes, life-skills workshops, recycling sessions and teaching carpentry. It also attracts visitors and press attention from all over the world.
