Upcoming Exhibitions - March

We love art - that's kind of our thing. We would love to go to every single exhibition, but sadly, that's just not possible. Instead, each month we are choosing 5 exhibitions that we are really excited about. If you get a chance to go, you should, and send us a picture too while you're at it!

First up, The TATE museum of London is hosting one of the most exciting exhibitions of the year: a massive Andy Warhol retrospective! From March 11th to September 6th, you can see some of the artist's most iconic works including Marilyn Monroe, Coca-Cola, and the ever colorful Campbell's Soup Cans. For any Warhol fan out there, this is one you definitely do not want to miss!

Our second pick for March takes us to Paris where The Orsay Museum is presenting an exhibition of James Tissot from March 24th until July 19th. Focused on the man behind the paintings, you will get a deep dive into the artistic and social context of the time and how it relates to his art. Bonus: the exhibition features some of the artist's most popular and boldest works.

Still in Paris, our third recommendation is a Christo and Jeanne-Claude exhibition coming at Centre George Pompidou from March 18th until June 15th. The major exhibition retraces the history of the duo's Pont-Neuf project (1975-1985), and looks back at their Parisian period, between 1958 and 1964.

Number four on our list takes us to the Big Apple where Gerhard Richter will exhibit at the MET Museum from March 4th until July 5th. Spanning the entirety of Richter's prolific and innovative career, the exhibition will present over one hundred works that focus on his specific commitment to the medium, as well as his related interests in photography, digital reproduction, and sculpture.

Our fifth and final selection for this month takes us back north to London for a David Hockney show the National Portrait Gallery. The exhibition started February 27th but ends June 28th, giving you plenty of time to get there. With over 150 works from public and private collections, it is the first major Hockney exhibition in over twenty years!
