THE SKATEROOM is headed to Paris for the ChangeNOW Summit, the largest gathering for positive impact in the world. From the 30th January to the 1st of February, we have the pleasure of being among the leading actors for change welcomed at the Grand Palais, to present solutions to some of the world’s most pressing needs.
With more than 500 attending entrepreneurs, such as Nicolas Hulot (Environmental Activist) and Paul Watson (Sea Shepherd) to name but a few, and 120 countries represented, the objective will be to discuss sustainable solutions and innovations. Open to the public during the three days, it will be a great occasion to speak and learn about global issues with different actors.
With the growing threats of the modern world, including climate change, it is inspiring to be a part of this movement led by organizations and businesses, to protect and preserve the planet.
Through its engaged business model, the company has raised over $645.000 to support 33 social projects devoted to empowering at-risk youth through education and skateboarding, impacting the lives of thousands. By merging the act of buying with a real impact, the company instils its customers with a renewed sense of joy, awareness, and community.
Since its inception, THE SKATEROOM is a project that takes it upon itself to keep evolving within the realities of the modern world. As a motto, the organization operates with the belief that for-profit companies share a moral obligation to use their power for the greater good. From sourcing its wood from certified sustainable forests to packaging made out of recycled materials, THE SKATEROOM devotes great attention to limit its impact on the environment. The young B Corp also offsets its carbon emissions yearly and has proudly been carbon neutral since 2016.
Most recently, during the COP25 in Madrid, THE SKATEROOM was one of the 500 B Corp companies to publicly commit to becoming Net Zero by 2030 in an effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reach a 1.5-degree trajectory.
On February 1st at 10AM, Charles-Antoine Bodson, the CEO and Founder of THE SKATEROOM, is poised to take the stage for the Entrepreneur Spirit panel, where he will have the opportunity to talk about his social entrepreneurship journey. This session will focus on inspiring entrepreneurs that decided to do things differently and succeeded, and will also feature Alexandre Mars (Epic Foundation), Christian Kroll (Ecosia), Fatou Ndiaye (The Great Village), and Marine Tanguy (MTArt).
