3 Collections of Epic Proportions With 5 Extraordinary Artists

Art and skateboarding are about pushing the limits of creativity, disrupting the status quo and inspiring new perspectives. For our latest launch, we have taken this approach to a whole new level enlisting not one but five globally-renowned artists for a grand-scale collection. Jean-Charles de CASTELBAJAC, Benjamin SABATIER and artist trio CB HOYO, Evgen Čopi GORIŠEK and Pascal MÖHLMANN, have experimented with the traditional form of a skateboard deck to create an inspired collection of original artworks and rare printed editions.

Jean-Charles de CASTELBAJAC

The legendary Jean-Charles de CASTELBAJAC who merges art, fashion and design to explore history, childhood and pop culture, has produced a creation in his distinctive color palette - a triptych of skate decks laser-cut and shaped to outline the wings of an angel. The angel, with its stoic expression, is a reflection on the courage of skateboarders, offering them protection, inspiration and wings for a safe flight. The triptych is not only a stunning art piece, but also a must-have collectible for any fan of the famous de CASTELBAJAC style.

CB Hoyo, Evgen Čopi GORIŠEK and Pascal MÖHLMANN (Plan X Gallery)

CB HOYO, Evgen Čopi GORIŠEK and Pascal MÖHLMANN have teamed up for a six-hand collaboration, exploring their individual thoughts and perspectives on the the notion of “falling” - a universal experience which happens to us all and yet is often seen as failure rather than, as they suggest, an opportunity for growth. Each artist created one third of five hand-painted triptychs, mixing their unique styles which span satirical iconography, reinterpretations of classical paintings and portraiture. Moreover, they have also joined forces for a grand achievement - a large-scale, XXL original artwork which serves as the biggest skateboard art deck in THE SKATEROOM’s history. Thanks to Plan X Gallery for their support on this collection.

Benjamin SABATIER

Benjamin SABATIER’s penchant for the utopias of modern architecture, raw materials, DIY and legible manufacturing processes has manifested into the creation of fascinating skateboard art decks. The original artworks are made entirely out of concrete and feature embedded pieces of colorful administrative papers, found on the floor of the artist’s studio. The collage is SABATIER’s way of “painting with the colors of the economy” The unique nature of these original artworks and their print-edition replicas, makes them truly rare pieces in THE SKATEROOM’s oeuvre.
