Make Life Skate Life is an international non-profit that uses skateboarding as a means to teach cross-cultural communication, social inclusion, creative self-expression, and resilience to underprivileged youth populations. To achieve this, they develop and build grassroots movements by encouraging collaboration and building community skateparks.
Make Life Skate Life uses skateboarding as a catalyst for positive social change by bringing people together and creating safe spaces, free of charge and accessible to all – including females, disadvantaged and refugee youth. The organization’s goal is to encourage its local partners to take ownership of these projects, develop the skills necessary to sustain them long-term, and encourage partners to initiate and lead future projects.
Since 2013, Make Life Skate Life has built skateparks in India, Bolivia, Jordan, Myanmar, Ethiopia, Nepal, Morocco, and Iraq, impacting the lives of thousands.
The Skateroom took on triple threat collaboration Jeremyville, Steven Harrington, and Jean Jullien, to support Make Life Skate Life’s project of building Suli Skatepark in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq. The collaboration has raised a total of $15,000 to fund the skatepark’s construction and will support its program and classes.
