Cuba Skate was founded in 2010 by Miles Jackson who fell in love with Cuba while studying in Havana. Over time, He built a tight-knit family of skaters and noticed the very limited supplies available on the island. As a result, he brought back more gear with every visit and allowed the organization’s programs to grow.
For Cuba Skate, skateboarding is a powerful force. It brings communities together and develops individuals. It is a unique way to engage youth and bring people together at the intersection of sport, culture and transportation.
With their programs, Cuba Skate develops a new generation of leaders that are better equipped to tackle challenges in their own lives and connect their local and global communities.
Through our collaboration with Coco Capitán, we are donating 100% of the sales revenue to Cuba Skate. The funding will help the non-profit to appropriate abandoned areas and turn them into safe spaces for the skateboarding community. The funding will also help Cuba Skate in their project to build the island’s first official skatepark.
