Goal of the project
Improving the healthcare and education of at-risk youth in Thailand
SATI is a grassroots non-profit founded in Thailand in 2013 that aims to improve healthcare and education for at-risk and underserved children and youth. SATI is a Buddhist Pali word which means “mindfulness”, SATI believes in being mindful of the causes of the problems as well as the solutions. SATI implements a two-fold model of prevention and treatment through the use of active learning workshops and livelihood programs for children and youths that provide a medium for expression, mindfulness, healing, education, and preventive healthcare.
SATI focuses to empower youths and expose them to options that do not harm themselves or others. Projects range from mental health and sex education programs in underserved schools in Northern Thailand to counseling and occupational training for at-risk youths in central Bangkok.
