Walead Beshty (b. 1976, London, UK) is an artist and writer working in Los Angeles.
Although Beshty is most known for his work in photography, his bodies of work span a large variety of media including sculpture, painting, installation and video.
From 2007–2016 he was associate professor in the Graduate Art Department of Art Center College of Design, and has taught at the Art Institute of Chicago; University of California at Los Angeles; and California Institute of the Arts among others. Beshty’s work is represented by Regen Projects, Los Angeles; Petzel Gallery, New York; Thomas Dane Gallery, London; Rodolphe Janssen, Brussels; Galerie Eva Presenhuber, Zurich; and Capitain Petzel, Berlin.
The editions from our collaboration with Walead Beshty were launched Nov 7th at the Marciano Art Foundation. Through the collaboration, our objective is to raise $15,000 to fund Janwar’s second skatepark, in rural India.
