City Roofs

€480,00

Open Edition

Edward Hopper’s depiction of the 1932 New York skyline is one of the most meditative and warm of his paintings. Painted in 1932, the piece captures the light and shade of a warm, glowing evening. Paintings like the watercolor City Roofs (1932) show Hopper’s fascination with the city views visible from his windows and his rooftop. They reveal how attuned he was to the spatial dynamics and subtleties of the city’s built environment. City Roofs is rendered by THE SKATEROOM as part of an open edition skateboard collection, officially licensed with Artist Rights Society (ARS) and the Whitney Museum of American Art. 10% of all revenue from this collection goes towards funding the incredible Cuba Skate and their recycled-plastic skatepark project. © 2022 Heirs of Josephine N. What types of editions are there?
  • Limited Edition: editions available in defined quantities, a fixed number that will determine the amount of skate decks that will ever be produced for an artwork. All limited editions come with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity. Some editions are also numbered on the top print — see product pictures. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.
  • Open Edition: these editions are not limited, which means that an indefinite number can be produced and restocked over the course of a set period. Newsletter subscribers get first updates on when that period is nearing an end.
  • Original Artwork: usually hand-made by the artist and unique, these artworks are the most exclusive pieces in each collection. Coming in varied sizes and textures, they are rare collectibles from the artist straight to your wall.
  • Time Limited Edition: a timed release allows us to sell a skate art edition for a set period of time. Once the window ends, the release won't be available to buy anymore.
What's a COA?

CoA is short for certificate of authenticity. CoA’s are either signed by the artist or THE SKATEROOM in order to validate the editions. It is specificized on each product page if a CoA is provided with the edition.
