Description

Painted a year before his death in 1966, Magritte created ‘Décalcomanie’ for an acquaintance of his – the baron Chaïm Perelman. The painting would be stolen from Perelman’s house in Brussels, in August 1979, and would only come to be rediscovered in London, May 1992, by Scotland Yard. Undoubtedly, one of Magritte’s most renowned works, ‘Décalcomanie’ tries to reveal the invisible by contrasting himself to the outside world – the artist’s existence within outer world contrasted to the artist’s existence within his inner world.

Our Social Impact is at the core of who we are and what we stand for. We donate up to 30% of every sale to an NGO dedicated to moving humanity forward. The % given to support social projects depends on various factors among which the edition size, the price, the retailer’s margin, the royalites paid to the artists and foundations. Since the start of our project, we’ve given more than $500,000+ to support social projects empowering at-risk youth around the world.
