Andy WARHOL
This collaboration between THE SKATEROOM and The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts draws on Warhol’s iconic art across different periods of his career. Through his work, Andy Warhol redefined the way we see the world by turning the ordinary into something extraordinary. He also firmly believed that change was only possible if a person sought it out, rather than a natural occurrence of its own – a value shared at THE SKATEROOM.
Before assuming his place in history, Andy Warhol (1928-1987) as a commercial illustrator in New York for over a decade. Although he began painting in the late 1950s, he emerged into the spotlight in 1962 when he exhibited wooden replicas of Brillo soap pad boxes, along with paintings of Coca-Cola bottles, and his infamous Campbell’s soup cans. Warhol’s mass-producing silkscreen technique was key in reducing his depictions into insipid and dehumanized cultural icons that reflected the alleged emptiness of American material culture, along with Warhol’s own emotional withdrawal towards his creations. Eventually, Warhol’s work propelled him to the forefront of the emerging Pop art movement in America.
For almost a decade, THE SKATEROOM has been working closely with The Andy Warhol Foundation, upholding the artist’s timeless legacy and channeling it into iconic skate art decks. THE SKATEROOM is now proud to present the latest result of our cooperation – the first limited collection of 100 Self-Portraits editions, in partnership with The Brant Foundation.

CoA is short for certificate of authenticity. CoA’s are either signed by the artist or THE SKATEROOM in order to validate the editions. It is specificied on each product page if a CoA is provided with the edition.
“Printed Signature on the deck” refers to the printed signature of the artist included on the top-print. Most decks feature this printed signature, though some specified editions can also feature a hand signed artist signature.
We make a commitment to the social projects we fund: at least 10% of our revenue goes directly to them. Working with our partners, we help empower at-risk youth, build new skateparks and develop education facilities & resource programs. Since 2014, we have generated over $1,500,000 to support social projects around the world.
In 2019, we became a Certified B Corporation. THE SKATEROOM is also CO2 neutral, chooses to source its skateboard wood from certified sustainable forests, and uses water-based ink for its prints.
These editions of artwork are intended for decorative purposes. While you could definitely skate on them if you wanted to, we provide you with one wall mount per deck to hang them on your wall, just like a painting.
We provide you with everything you need to hang your boards up. With your edition purchase you will receive the EasyFix wall mounts. It’s really easy to set up and you can find all the instructions right here. You can always upgrade to the premium SnapDisplay wall mounts.
Our team is also always ready to help if you have any additional questions.
Direct exposure to sunlight might result in discoloration and damage to your editions. To avoid this, we strongly suggest hanging your art-decks away from direct natural light.
